DROWNING
Is it me or is it them? So many little boys with different needs and different personalities - it's impossible to give you each 100% of me. I have been so tired and frustrated this week and it's the first time in nine years that I've longed for my single child-free life.
First time in nine years? Really? You are a superstar! Goodness I've been having those lapses of thinking for years! Be kind to yourself, you are probably hitting the reno hump, barely recovered from school holidays and gritting your teeth for the pupil free day tomorrow. Also they don't each need 100% from you, they also have each other to create wonderful memories with, unfortunately quite alot of those wonderful memories are probably destined to involve traumatising their mother! mel x
ReplyDeleteOh those boys! they are so so busy! xo
ReplyDeleteI agree you must be an INCREDIBLE parent to have only felt it once in 9 years .... but that probably doesn't help. Feeling it still sucks no matter what anyone else thinks. Wishing you big boxes of chocolate, a quiet coffee, a flick through a trashy magazine, an hour at the hairdressers, a walk by the river on your own .... or what ever it is YOU need to recharge at least a little bit. You're no good to anyone (especially yourself) if you're not okay. Merridy
ReplyDeleteI feel like that often and I have only been the mother to one for two and a half years!
ReplyDeleteI hope you do get a minute or two to yourself.
Your photos this week are as perfect as always!
Thank you all for your kind words - it was an absolute hell week which got the better of me. I seem to suffer greatly from 'mother guilt' and find it terribly difficult to pull away. And there is still the renovation to get through as well. I'm hoping things will all fall into place when we finally move into our house. xx
ReplyDeleteOnce in nine years!!?? Wow. That's amazing. I regularly go through phases where I long for that old life far too frequently. I'd never give it up of course, but ah, some days are just plain hard going. You are obviously a lovely wonderful mama. Be kind to yourself x
ReplyDeleteIt does get easier, they do grow up and become more self-sufficient and then you wonder why the house is so quite and a little bit boring. Hope next week is better.
